A creature concept inspired by deep-sea anglerfish.
The sculpt started with a head-focused blocking in ZBrush, using primary → secondary → tertiary forms to build up the design.
I later added a full body to explore posture and see how the character could work as a complete design, even though the concept was mainly meant for the upper body.
The character was posed using CC4 and refined back in ZBrush to clean overlaps and sharpen the sculpt in its final stance. Polypaint was used to establish early color variation before rendering.
Renders were completed in ZBrush using several passes (Polypaint and MatCaps) for later comp in Photoshop. The final image was built through material blending, masks, and lighting adjustments, with some hand-painted touch-ups at the end.
